






When your AC stops keeping up, the worst thing a tech can do is guess. We don't do that. Every no-cooling call we run starts the same way - a full system diagnostic that looks at everything from refrigerant pressures and temperatures to voltage, amperage, and airflow. No shortcuts.
We hook up our Fieldpiece refrigerant manifold gauge to pull live pressure readings on both the high and low sides. That data tells us a lot about what the refrigerant circuit is actually doing - whether the system is low on charge, whether there's a restriction somewhere, or whether something else is causing the breakdown. An infrared thermometer gives us discharge air temps we can compare against what the system should be putting out. Numbers don't lie.
On the electrical side, we're checking amperage draws on the compressor and fan motor with a clamp meter, and we're testing capacitors individually. A weak or failed capacitor is one of the most common reasons an AC runs but doesn't cool - and it's something you'd never catch without actually testing it. The filter condition gets checked too. A heavily clogged filter can choke airflow enough to cause the whole system to underperform, even if everything else is fine mechanically.
That's the difference between a real diagnostic and just topping off refrigerant and hoping for the best. We're looking at the whole system - not just the one thing that's easiest to fix. When we leave, we know what caused the problem and exactly what it took to fix it.
