When a customer calls us because their AC stopped cooling, most people expect us to show up, swap a part, and call it a day. That's not how we operate. A system that quits cooling usually has more than one thing wrong with it - and if you only fix one piece, you'll be right back in the same situation a few weeks later.

On this call, we opened things up and got to work on a full diagnostic. The evaporator coil inside the air handler, the electrical components in the condenser unit outside - we checked it all. That's where things got interesting. We found a bare, frayed wire end on one of the yellow leads in the condenser panel. That kind of wiring issue is easy to miss if you're not looking for it, and it's exactly the sort of thing that causes an AC to act up without an obvious reason.

We also hooked up our Fieldpiece SMAN refrigerant manifold to check the system pressures and refrigerant levels. The readings told us the system was running outside of its normal range - which confirmed what we already suspected. The unit wasn't just dealing with one bad component. It needed a thorough repair, not a quick patch.

This is what a real AC no-cooling diagnostic looks like. We're not guessing. We're pulling data, tracing wires, and getting eyes on every part of the system before we call it fixed. That approach takes more time upfront, but it means the repair actually holds.

If your house isn't keeping up and your system is running but not cooling - or not running at all - that's the system telling you something. We serve the Memphis area and surrounding communities in Tennessee and Mississippi, and we're ready to track down the real problem.
