Bad High Pressure Switch Replaced and Condenser Coil Cleaned

Sometimes it's a small part that takes the whole system down. That's exactly what we found here - a bad high pressure switch causing the system to shut itself off before it could do its job. Not a glamorous fix, but the kind of thing that makes a real difference when it's done right.

The high pressure switch is a safety component. When it fails, the system either trips out repeatedly or stops cooling altogether. We pulled the faulty switch, swapped it out, and got the system back in business.

While we were in there, we gave the condenser coil a thorough cleaning. Dirty coils are one of the most overlooked reasons a system struggles to keep up. When that coil is clogged with debris and buildup, the unit can't release heat efficiently - so it runs longer, works harder, and wears out faster. A good cleaning goes a long way toward keeping things running the way they should.

We use a Fieldpiece digital manifold gauge to check refrigerant pressures and system performance before and after the work. It gives us real numbers - superheat, subcooling, suction and discharge pressures - so we're not guessing about whether the system is actually operating correctly. That's the kind of diagnostic discipline that separates a proper repair from a band-aid fix.
