A lot of HVAC companies will add refrigerant and call it a day. No real verification, no data to back it up. That's not how we do it. When we recharge a system, we confirm the job is done correctly - with actual numbers, not guesswork.
We use a Fieldpiece SMAN refrigerant manifold gauge to pull real-time readings on system pressure, superheat, subcooling, and saturation temperatures. You can see the before and after clearly - the system came in low and out of range. After the recharge, both low and high side pressures balanced out, and the superheat came in at 11 degrees against a recommended 6 degrees - close enough that the diagnostic app confirmed a correct charge with a green "Correct Charge" status. That's the target.
We also track exactly how much refrigerant goes into the system using a digital refrigerant scale. Every pound matters. Too little and the system still underperforms. Too much and you can cause real damage to the compressor. Precision here isn't optional - it's the whole point.
When your refrigerant charge is off, your system works harder than it needs to, your electric bill goes up, and your home doesn't cool the way it should. Getting the charge right through proper HVAC system diagnostics is one of the most direct ways to get real performance back out of a unit that's been struggling. It's not a complicated fix when it's caught early - but it matters a lot.
This is what a proper refrigerant recharge looks like from start to finish. Data in, data out, system confirmed. That's the standard we hold every job to.
