If your AC is running but the house just won't cool down, low refrigerant is one of the first things we check. It's one of the most common reasons a system struggles - and one of the most overlooked. The system keeps running, the electric bill keeps climbing, and the house stays warm.
When we come out for a no-cooling diagnostic, we don't just guess. We hook up a Fieldpiece refrigerant manifold gauge to get exact pressure and superheat readings from the system. That data tells us precisely what's going on inside the refrigerant circuit - no assumptions, no unnecessary parts swapped out.
We also use a digital refrigerant scale to weigh in the charge accurately. That matters more than people realize. Overcharging a system is just as harmful as undercharging it. Getting the charge right - by weight and confirmed with live pressure readings - is what separates a proper recharge from a sloppy one.
Low refrigerant forces your compressor to work harder than it should. Over time, that extra strain adds up. It shortens the life of your equipment and drives up your energy costs. Catching it early with a proper HVAC diagnostic is almost always cheaper than dealing with a compressor failure down the road.
If your system is running but not keeping up, don't wait. That's the AC telling you something is off. Our air conditioner maintenance and diagnostic services are built around finding the real issue - and fixing it the right way.
