When your AC is running but the house just won't cool down, a dirty condenser coil is one of the first things we look at. Grass clippings, leaves, and debris pack into those coil fins over time - and once airflow gets restricted, your system has to work a lot harder to do the same job. That extra strain shows up on your electric bill and puts unnecessary wear on critical components.

We use a Fieldpiece SMAN refrigerant manifold to pull real data from the system - pressures, superheat, subcooling, saturation temps. That data tells us exactly what's going on inside the system, not just what we can see on the outside. Before and after a coil cleaning, the numbers tell the story. The difference in system performance is measurable, not just visual.

Inside the condenser pan, it's common to find accumulated debris sitting right around the compressor. Dead leaves, dirt, and organic buildup collect down there and often go unnoticed because nobody's popping the unit open to check. That kind of buildup traps heat and moisture right at the heart of the system. Not good.

The coil fins themselves can get completely choked with grass and debris, especially if the unit sits close to a lawn or landscaping. When airflow through the coil is blocked, the refrigerant can't release heat properly - and the whole system suffers. A thorough cleaning clears that out and lets your AC breathe the way it was designed to.

This is exactly the kind of thing a routine AC maintenance visit is designed to catch. A coil cleaning, a full system diagnostic, and a set of refrigerant readings give you a clear picture of where your system stands. Small issues found early rarely turn into big repair bills.
